Graduating Class of the 2011 Smith and Moore Bull Riding School
For the fourth consecutive year TLC Quarter Horses in Hillsburgh, ON transitioned into a classroom for up-and-coming Bull Riders at the Smith and Moore Bull Riding School. Instructors Clint Smith, 2007 ORA Year-end Champion Bull Rider and Brandon Moore, 2002 and 2005 ORA Year-end Champion Bull Rider were joined by new addition Luke McCoag, 2008 ORA Year-end and Finals Champion Bull Rider to provide guidance and direction to the keen Bull Riders-to-be.
Assisting with Bull Fighting instruction were Jeremy Schuitema and Ciaran Hester, both former ORA Bullfighters of the Year.
This recurring clinic boasted its biggest numbers yet in 2011, with 25 Bull Riders (18 new to the sport), 10 Steer Riders (4 new to the sport) 2 Bullfighters (1 new to the sport) and 1 Calf Rider, also boasting some Cowgirl Power with one Cowgirl Bull Rider and 2 Cowgirl Steer Riders in the ranks.
A great mix of stock for all levels of bull riding abilities was assembled by "Big Easy" Livestock, Larry Smith and Joe-Dog Bulls, and extra thanks are expressed to "Roadkill" Phil who managed the backpens all weekend long.
Top-of-the line equipment was on hand for trial, loan and purchase from all of the big Industry manufacturers courtesy of Bramer's Rodeo and Western Supply (www.bramersrodeo.com)
The Smith and Moore Bull and Steer Riding Clinic would also like to thank TLC Quarter Horses, the Gray Family, the Medics from Erin-Hillsburgh Fire and all of those that contributed behind the scenes.
Plans are in place for next year's clinic...bigger...better...always improving and generating refined talent in the sport of Bull Riding.
